Frontline politician and philanthropist, Sani Idakwo Philips, has warned former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to desist from blackmailing the people of Kogi East senatorial district.
In a statement on Thursday, Idakwo stated that contrary to the negative perception created by former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello at the APC National, Kogi East is not and has never being against the APC per se.
He said, “To be specific, Igala is not against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“For the records, Kogi East has consistently voted APC in Presidential Elections. In 2019, the total votes from kogi state for APC was 285,894. Out of this number, Kogi East contributed 113,919 votes, almost 40%. In 2023 Presidential election, total APC votes from Kogi state was 241,712. Kogi East contributed 107,354 , Kogi Central gave 55,858 while Kogi west contributed 78,496 votes.
“From the above records, it is evidenced that neither the west nor the central can deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.
“What the people of Kogi East is against I believe, is the use of brutal force, violence, barbaric stealing from the state account, tribalism, arrogance, wickedness, intimidation etc that characterized the administration of Former Governor Bello.
“However, it is interesting to observe how Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has been reduced to a cautionary tale in the APC, a caricature to be evoked as the party seems to have evolved beyond his predatory style of politics.
“The people of Kogi East are now arisen and are up to the shenanigans of Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello. I advice Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his own good to desist forthwith from blackmailing the good and amiable people of Kogi East who have contributed immensely towards successive victories of the APC in Kogi State.”
