The unending Kogi State house of assembly has indeed bring shame upon on our state Kogi State. It is a shame that Honourable members are now a dishonourable members inview of the magnitude of the crises which emanated from their selfish interest without considering the interest of the state first just only selfish gain and interest they are after.
The legislative arm of government, the executive and the Judiciary all complement each other so that good governance and viable democracy can thrive but in Kogi, the legislators are in disunity which has derailed the activities of government plan in delivering the dividend of democracy to the citizen. This has also hinder the representation of the people upon which which they are elected to serve as the mouthpiece of the citizen.
A new twist emerge after an allege invasion of the state assembly quarter by hoodlooms. It takes the blessing of God that makes the lawmakers survive the assassination attempt and the recent invasion of the assembly complex by some set of security security agent must be condemn in totally and his Excellency Gov. Bello must investigate this
issue before it get out of hand.
Also as the crises continue, it has taking a new twist following the purported summoning of the chief executive of the state Alh. Yahaya Bello by the national assembly members. This is sequel to the earlier attempt by the house of representative members to amicably resolve the crises but was futile. Despite promise by His excellency to call
the two faction together for a truce meeting never see the light of the day.
The electorate must question ask their various assembly members on what they have been able to attain since the crises begin if not failure. Those selfish lawmakers are paid heavily for the service not rendered to the state and their constituency. In the last six month over 240 million is wasted in running the the state legislative institution as lamented by former acting governor and speaker KSHA his excellency Dr Clarence Olafemi JP that 40 million is spend in running the state assembly institution. The state members on how many bills and resolution are been able to pass in the last six month if not for them to keep fighting each other wile they abandon their fundamental and constitutional responsibility for their selfish interest.
As the crises continue, the G15 members has institute a court case against the state Government praying the court to declare the 2016 Kogi budget pass by the G5 lawmakers as null and void and if granted will put the state government economic plan and program of this administration in shambles.
I have to his His excellency Gov. Bello democracy day speech, he specifically stated that he is running an all inclusive government when it is clear that the legislative arms of Government is in chaos.
He speak further that the state assembly crises is a family affair and that they can use internal mechanism to resolve their differences.
His excellency, being the father and chief security officer of the state must know that their is no smoke without fire, hence the need for him to play his fatherly role in resolving the issue is sacrosanct.
His excellency must know that their cannot be any meaningful development in the state when their is no good synergy within the lawmakers likewise the executive. His excellency most trade with caution and put aside political interest and show the zeal and commitment in making Kogi assembly crises to be resolve within the shortest time.
His excellency should remember that he vow to always uphold the rule of law and order, and also ensure the security of life and property in the State. In this regard, i want his Excellency to bring to a stop the recent act of illegality, impunity, criminality, lawlessness and show of shame happening at the State assembly complex opine by some assembly members and security operatives which is in total disregard for rule of law, ethics and values of democracy must not be welcome by this current administration.
His excellency should realize that his opposition and critics who are wishing his administration bad are already making something from the lingering crises projecting this administration bad in the face of Kogites. His excellency excellency should be wary of the way he dance with some PDP lawmakers as they may show solidarity with his
administration but they are just like a spy to destroy his administration. Hence the need for his excellency to resolve the assembly crises become imperative so as to fast track this administration programs and plans.
Finally, i want to appeal to his Excellency to let go of politics and summoned the courage and and do all within his power to end this crises in the fastest possible ways and if possible reachout to the the elder statesmen in the State to mediate between all parties involve and put an end to this shame before it ruin down your government.
