The State level stakeholders roundtable on the revival of Ajaokuta Steel Company is set to hold in Lokoja on Saturday October 23.
Speaking to journalists in Kaduna yesterday, a member of the Planning Committee and Secretary to the National Conference on Ajaokuta Project, Mr. Mohammed Attah said modalities are gradually being concluded.
Attah said the roundtable, which is aimed at harmonizing the views of the steel host community from Kogi state, will serve to address the likelihood of agitation of marginalization from the local community in the near future.
“It is therefore a prelude to the National Conference on Ajaokuta Steel Project and President Muhammadu Buhari Industrialization Agenda slated for a later date in the year.
“Already, lead stakeholders such as the Executive Governor of Kogi State, the Senators from the three zones, traditional rulers and institutions, as well as civil society organisations have been mobilized for the event,” he said.
