Joe Agada and two others has secured an injunction from the Kogi State High Court restraining Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its National Executive Council from considering Enemona Anyebe and six others at the NEC meeting of the party pending the hearing and determination of the suit filed before the court.
Justice Yahaya Adamu, in an interim injunction last Thursday, also restrained Anyebe, Sunday Olafemi Ibrahim, Senibi Segun, Jude Sule, Akuvada Momoh Anthony, Olu Olusoji and Comfort Omolayo Oloni from parading themselves as elected state executives of PDP in Kogi state pending hearing and determination of the suit.
In suit no: HC/013/06/2024 filed before Kogi State High Court sitting in Obangede, Capt Agada, Bilkisu Muhammed and David Godwin Itopa sought court order declaring that there was no valid election conducted into the state party offices.
They argued that the state congress did not comply with the laid down procedures in the constitution of PDP and guidelines of the party for the conduct of 2024 state congress, adding that there was no valid election at the state congress conducted on 31st August, 2024 at Lokoja especially, alleging the use of fake delegates, accreditation and outright manipulation into the state party offices.
They prayed the court to declare the state congress in Kogi null and void as well as order the party to conduct a fresh congress excluding all the aspirants who participated in the “illegal and unconstitutional state congress of 31st August, 2024”.
Confirming the development to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, Capt. Agada said the national secretariat of the party had been served.
He reiterated his stand that the state congress conducted in Kogi on August 31 failed to comply with PDP constitution and the party’s guideline.
