Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has commended the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal constituency, Hon. Yusuf Ayo Tajudeen for his wonderful contributions on the floor of the House, and his burning desire towards the development of his constituency.
Hon. Waziri Tambuwal made this statement while commissioning the Rural Information Technology Centre, Ogidi and presenting empowerment incentives to people of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.
He added that the constitutional role of legislators is making law, but the seeming poverty and the peculiarities of the nation’s Democracy, has made most legislators joined in alleviating their peoples suffering by economically empowering them.
Tambuwal also urged traditional rulers to join in the fight towards overcoming security challenges faced by the nation.
He stated this in the palace of the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Michael Olobayo during the presentation/commissioning of empowerment/constituency projects in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal constituency, Kogi State.
The speaker disclosed that never has the nation witnessed the level of insecurity facing the nation, challenged the traditional institutions to proffer solutions, as they are closest to the people.
While speaking at the occasion, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor who represented the State Governor, called for partnership between the Executive and Legislative Arm of Government, as a way to rapidly speed up development.
Awoniyi explained that Democracy dividends can best be felt when the various Arms of Government work in harmony.
In his remarks, Chief Michael Olobayo the Obaro of Kabba, lauded the cordial relationship existing between the speaker and the members of the House of Representatives, said, it engenders Democracy.
The Member Representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Yusuf Tajudeen said the items presented are his modest way and sacrifice aimed at appreciating the people of his constituency, thanked them for their support thus far.
Items commissioned by the Speaker and the Representatives of the State Governor included Rural Information Technology Centre, vehicles, Deep Freezers, Solar street light, Transformers, Boreholes, Grinding
Machines, Sewing Machines, Generators and Motor cycles.
