Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu is billed to chair the 2025 Kogi State NUJ Week grand finale.
The Kogi State NUJ Press Week for 2025 begins on 19th September, with the grand finale slated for the 25th September, 2025.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Ademu Saidu and Comrade Segun Oyenibi, Chairman and Secretary of the NUJ respectively, the union said arrangements is in top gear for this year’s Press Week.
The Theme for the 2025 NUJ Press Week is; “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development”.
The Press Week theme seeks to bring to the fore the repositioning of the State Solid Minerals Sector, a remarkable feat accomplished under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the leadership of Engr. Bashiru Gegu as Commissioner.
The NUJ Press Week is an annual event for all working Journalists in the State, provides platform for sober reflection as well as to reposition the Union for effective service delivery.
This year’s Press Week is scheduled to hold as from 19th September, 2025 with the Grand finale expected to hold at the EdgeDrive Hotel Lokoja on the 25th September, 2025.
His Excellency, Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, Executive Governor, Kogi State, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Abubakar Gegu will be the Chairman for the 2025 NUJ Press Week, is expected to use the medium to disclosed far reaching achievements of the State Government in the Sector.
The NUJ National President, Comr. Alhassan Yahya Abdul and other National and Zonal Officers of the Union are expected in Kogi State for the 2025 NUJ Press Week Grand finale.
Other line up of activities for the 2025 NUJ Press Week includes; prayers at the Church and Mosque, sporting activities, visit to orphanages and environmental sanitation.
The week long program will be rounded up with the grand finale on the 25th September, 2025 with the grand finale.
