A soccer school training programme for girls to become future star players under Skillful Future Stars Football Academy have began in Kogi State.
The Football Academy opening which was held at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium on Saturday 10th May attracted no fewer than thirty in-school females.
The Academy offers age-grade talented players an opportunity to realize their passion for football with the chance to play competitively and also appreciate the values of education.
The Academy’s Chief Executive Officer is Coach Charity Enwere, a CAF-C License Holder, who has also tutored some women football teams in Nigeria in the past.
The innovator of the Project, Enwere revealed the objectives and the values of the Academy is to catch them young between the ages of 5-21 years, to encourage budding stars in Nigeria actualise their dreams of becoming relevant in their chosen career..
”I’m happy to announce the official launch of Skillful Future Stars Football Academy, a concept that provides students with the opportunity to receive quality coaching in Football and to compete in various leagues and tournaments,” the former Super Falcons trainer said.
”Students will receive regular coaching to develop their individual skills and fitness in their football career and provide access to sports health, safety, nutrition, injury advice, and rehabilitation.”
”With a wide range of technical players in the country, the Academy is committed to a positive training environment where development of individual skills is the primary objective, and winning games is merely a by-product of the players’ development,” the grassroot-talent-hunter continued.
”The coaches are to work towards the complete development of each player’s technical and tactical skills. Players will be taught to play in an attractive, attacking, and highly technical style,” she concluded.
