The National Chairman of Network for Change and Good Governance (NCGG), Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi, has assured Kogi people that the Supreme Court judgement on the Kogi Governorship appeal will be fair.
In a chat with Kogireports today, Atumeyi called on Kogites not to entertain fears as the Supreme court judges will not dash their hopes like the lower courts did. He hinged his confidence on the integrity of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed.
“I know Justice Mahmud very well. He is upright. He cannot be bribed. He is not afraid of the powers that be in the land so Kogi people can be rest assured that he will stand for the truth on this case”, he said.
“The CJN is God-fearing – he is afraid of the life hereafter where he will give account before Almighty Allah. Though the likes of Malami are acting as if there is no life hereafter and are allegedly interfering in the judicial process, we at the NCGG urge the CJN to hold on to his integrity. We appeal to the CJN to ensure that upright judges are assigned to determine Kogi’s case. If Yahaya Bello wins, so be it. If Yahaya loses, so be it. But I wish to advise Yahaya Bello to start packing out of Lugard House
“I foresee fresh election in Kogi state after the Supreme Court verdict. If Yahaya Bello feels he is popular let him come and contest in an election proper.”
