Senator Yakubu Oseni has in a remarkable display of dedication to academic excellence and leadership, earned a PhD in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the prestigious Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA).
This achievement is an affirmation to his commitment to lifelong learning and his passion for personal and professional growth. Senator Oseni’s journey is truly inspiring, from his early days as a banker to becoming a senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to public service.
Senator Oseni’s leadership skills were on full display during his tenure as Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Board of Internal Revenue. With full authority granted by Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Kogi State Governor, Senator Oseni rebranded and restructured the board, recruiting young graduates and experienced workers to reposition the agency for excellence. Today, the Kogi State Internal Revenue Services is a testament to his exceptional leadership, with a state-of-the-art edifice known as Revenue House.
As a senator representing Kogi Central then, Senator Oseni has been a strong advocate for the development of his constituency. He sponsored a bill seeking the conversion of FCE Okene to a Federal University of Education and another bill for the establishment of a Solid Minerals Producing Area Development Commission in North Central Nigeria.
His commitment to the development of Kogi Central is also evident in his numerous empowerment programs and infrastructure projects. Some of his notable initiatives include digitalization of 25 secondary schools across Kogi Central, construction of a 600-capacity JAMB CBT Centre, construction of artisan secretariats in five local governments, and provision of roads and boreholes.
These initiatives have had a lasting impact on the lives of his constituents, improving access to education, promoting vocational skills and entrepreneurship, and enhancing the overall quality of life.
Senator Oseni’s academic achievements are impressive, and his commitment to lifelong learning is evident in his academic pursuits.
