Member representing Okene I state constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Lawi AT Ahmed has expressed shock and sadness over the news of the sudden passing away of Senator Salihu Otaru Ohize in an early hour of Sunday.
In a statement issued by his Media aide, Comrade Danfulani Ohinoyi Lukman, Lawi extended heartfelt condolences to Senator Ohize’s family, the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, all the colleagues in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, the entire people of Ebiraland and Kogi State in general.
Hon. Lawi said he joins them, members of the Ohize’s family, the government and the people of Kogi State, in
mourning an icon and a distinguished legislator who served commendably as Chairman Okene Local Government before his election as the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 2007 general elections where he also served honourably.
Hon. Lawi prayed that God Almighty will comfort Senator Ohize’s family, relatives, colleagues in the National Assembly and all the people of his constituency.
He further prayed that God will, in His infinite mercies, grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss of this great hero, icon and a political legend.
