Senator Ogembe Trains, Empower 1,000 Women With N20m

Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe, representing Kogi Central senatorial district, has advocated massive youth and women empowerment as a way of reducing unemployment and poverty in the area.

The Senator stated this yesterday in Okene during the training and empowerment of over one thousand women from the central senatorial district at Afims Hotel in Okene.
He noted that all hands must be on deck to create the needed environment that will bring about peace and  security in the area through massive job creation and empowerment.
The senator who was represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon. Aloysius Okino, said over twenty Million naira will be given to the one thousand women, with each women getting twenty thousand naira.
According to him, his office is organizing the training in conjunction with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria  (SMEDAN) owing to the age-long enviable track record of the organization.
He maintained that he will continue to strive for better conditions of living for the people of his senatorial district, through quality representation and effective and timely intervention in matters affecting their welfare.
Some of the women who spoke with journalists, at the venue of the training, commended Senator Ahmed Ogembe for the initiative, called on other elected officials to emulate the senator.
Rabiat Bello, who is the Women leader of Ajaokuta LGA chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noted that the intervention will help them improve on their businesses and make them to be self reliant.
