The distinguished senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Ahmed Ogembe, has reaffirmed his commitment to the emancipation of youth of the central senatorial district of Kogi State.
The senator made this known when Corp members from the central senatorial district of Kogi state, who are serving in the National assembly paid him a courtesy call in his office in Abuja on Friday.
The senator thanked the corps members for their visit, and urged them to feel free to call on him for any assistance in any area they think he could help, saying he would gladly offer his assistance. .
“The office I am currently occupying as a senator is not mine, but belongs to the people of my district as I am only standing in for them.
“I am assuring the youth my desire to totally emancipate them, because issues that concerns the youths of my district has always pre-occupy my thought and it is my earnest desire never to disappoint them.
“I will never be a part of those who despise and turn down any youth that approach me for help at any point in time,” Ogembe said.
The senator restated that no one from the area will be marginalized under his watch, urging the corps members to be of good behaviour and emulate good virtues at all times.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the group Saidu Daud, said they were in the senator’s office to felicitate with him on the victory of his election, saying the senator was not new in the annals of Kogi politics.
Daud, therefore, expressed hope that the senator would certainly deliver on all his mandate, noting that the senator’s antecedence as a philanthropist, grassroot mobiliser coupled with his tenacity and doggedness presents him (Ogembe) as a man well equipped for the job.
Other speakers prayed to God to grant the senator good health and wisdom to carry out his assignment effectively and efficiently to the benefits of his people.
