Hon. Ayo Emmanuel, All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder Kogi West, has condemned in strong terms the unwarranted speech of Senator Sunday Karimi at the occasion of Kabba Day celebration last weekend in Kabba.
In a statement on Thursday, the former All Progressives Congress (APC) State Youth Leader described the derogatory comments of the Senator imploring Kogi West sons and daughters to hijack power rather than negotiate with the incumbent in 2027 as “unsolicited and reckless”.
He recalled that the leader of the party in the State, former Governor Yahaya Bello (FGYB), has laid a template that will ensure a seamless transition of power from Kogi Central to Kogi West after the second tenure of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who many political critics have adjudged to have performed beyond expectations less than two years in office.
Hon. Ayo reiterated the indisputable fact that Senators Dino Melaye and Smart Adeyemi had constituency offices, appointed sons and daughters of Kabba-Bunu as aides and held town hall meetings but Senator Karimi hasn’t deemed it fit to do any of the above after 2 years in office.
He surmised that he is hiding under these monumental failures to cover up with the “Kogi West for Governor 2027” slogan that is dead on arrival.
He reminded everyone that historical facts have shown that forming an alliance with Kogi East now is tantamount to taking Kogi West back to Egypt.
He urged all peace – loving and understanding people of Kogi West extraction to be patient with the performing Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman so that the gentleman agreement earlier agreed upon could be documented through a round table alliance with all political gladiators in Kogi State.
He concluded by saying, in 2031, Kogi West will surely produce the next Governor of Kogi State.
