The seven local government council chairmen of Kogi West senatorial district have jointly condemned the recent outburst of Senator Sunday Karimi over the recently held endorsement rally held in Lokoja at the weekend to endorse President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for second term in office.

In a press statement jointly signed by the seven council chairmen, they described Senator Karimi as an ingrate.

The statement read by Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, Council Chairman of Kabba Bunu LGA, said it was unfortunate that a beneficiary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) magnanimity would turn back to cast aspersion on leaders who made him.

“We want to use this medium to urge the teeming members of APC in Kogi State, with Kogi West in particular discountenance Sen. Karimi’s outburst. He is an ingrate.

“We wish to make it clear that in 2023, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu won the election in Kogi West overwhelmingly, with the assurances of doubling the vote for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

“It is in record that Kogi West remains the greatest beneficiary of President Tinubu, with our sons and daughters appointed into key positions, as well as infrastructure development, which are enough to earn him an overwhelming margin in 2027.

“Let it be made clear to Sen. Karimi that the overflow witnessed at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center was organic, as the people out of their volition wanted to send a clear message that they love President Tinubu.

“The unanimous voice vote passed on President Tinubu and Gov. Ododo was a product of the love the people of Kogi State, particularly, Kogi West has for the President, wondered why a Senator Karimi who has failed the people on all fronts will cry more than the bereave all because his people have shown him the rejection card,” the statement read.

The council chairmen said they were not surprised at the ungrateful attitude of Senator Karimi who became a Senator and turned around to call his benefactors self-styled stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), led by former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

“It is in record that it is Sen. Karimi’s trajectory to always turn back to fight the finger that feeds him. This is not the first time he is use at displaying such tendencies. Our joy as Council Chairmen of our Local Government Areas is the face that he has seen the handwriting on the wall, that he has been rejected, reason why like a drowning man, has become drunkenly confused, speaking from both sides of the mouth.

“Let it be made know that the people of Kogi West do not need bullying to support Mr. President, not when we are aware that we have remained the greatest beneficiary of the Tinubu’s administration.

“Let us remind Senator Karimi that because he has been separated from Nigerian following his poor performance and not able to speak to issues on the floor of the Senate, reason why he is not aware that across the country, because of President Tinubu’s performance, ahead the 2027 election it has been a avalanche of endorsement. We wonder why the Kogi State endorsement should be painful to him because of the huge success he recorded.

“While we urge the people of the seven Council areas of Kogi West Senatorial District to disregard the rantings of a failed Senator, we are using this medium to restate our commitment to the endorsement of President Tinubu and Gov. Ododo and if Sen. Karimi feel pained by the decision of the people, he can go hug a transformer.

“Let us once again assure that 2027 will be good riddance to bad rubbish for those who have failed the people, and restate our commitment to the APC, President Tinubu, Gov. Ododo and to our Supreme leader, former Gov Yahaya Bello that Kogi West is resolved to sustain our support and loyalty now and till after 2031.”
