The 3rd term bid of senator Smart Adeyemi suffer fresh set back as major political leader in Kogi West Senatorial district declared Hon T J Faniyi as the sole Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate endorsed for the Kogi West senatorial district.
Speaking to the journalists yesterday after their meeting at the Nigerian Union of Journalists Press Centre Lokoja, a PDP chieftain, General Tunde Ogbeha (rtd) said the Kogi West senatorial seat has been zone to Yagba Federal constituency in line with the traditional zoning arrangement among the 3 federal constituencies of Kabb/Bunu, Lokoja/Koto and yagba.
‘ We zoned it to Yagba to give sense of fairness, equity and justice to all the people in the entire Kogi West senatorial district.”
He informed that all the other 2 zones of Kabba/Bunu and Lokoja /Koto has had their turn and definitely Yagba people must take their turn of the traditional power rotation arrangement of the district.
‘We told them to bring a candidate and after their meeting they presented Hon T J Faniyi as their sole candidate which we all gave our support to”.
Present during the news briefing were virtually all major political leaders in Kogi west senatorial district,political office holders in the state, Gen Tunde Ogbeha, former Deputy Governor Chief Akande, and other PDP chieftains
