For effective justice delivery, the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah, says that sustained cordial relationship between the Judiciary and Nigerian Police is inevitable.

Ajanah, who spoke at the weekend when the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Adeyemi Ogunjemulusi, paid him a courtesy call, noted that a generally secure environment would enable those involved in the administration of justice to carry out their duties fearlessly.

He said the rescheduled 2015 general elections have provided the nation an opportunity to address the security issues in the state, adding that they must be properly addressed to bring about free, fair and safe elections.

Ajanah emphasised the need to resuscitate the committee on the administration of justice in the state, which comprises the chief judge, commissioner of police and host of others, to quickly address various issues bordering on security and prison decongestion.

Earlier, the commissioner thanked him for his warm reception, adding that he has been briefed on the security challenges in the state and has mapped out strategies by deploying various officers to the divisions in the state.

He assured that the principal officers would be on ground to ensure that elections are safe, free, fair and credible.
