The Secretary of Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Comrade Yemisi Maiye has charged staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly of Okun extraction to be good ambassadors of the land.
Comrade Maiye gave the charge in her good will message on the occasion of reception organised for lawmakers representing the area, permanent members and Secretary of the Assembly Service Commission by Okun Unity Forum of the Kogi State House of Assembly.
She said that Okun people are known for their dedication to duty, diligence and hardworking, commending them for not found wanting in these areas.
Comrade Maiye advised them to be more dedicated and shun anything that will drag the name of the area to the mud and assured them that of the readiness of the lawmakers and members of Assembly from Okun land to attend to their genuine complaints and problems.
She commended lawmakers from the area for their good relationship with other members from other parts of the state for the growth and development of the state.
According to her, they have not allowed their personal interest or tribal sentiments to over ride their lawmaking process and commended them for their quality contributions on the floor of the Assembly.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Okun Unity Forum of Kogi State House of Assembly, Elder Aiyeetan Sunday commended the State Governor, Alhaji Yayaha Bello for the appointment of Hon. Duro Meseko as Permanent member and Comrade Yemisi Maiye as Secretary of Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, both from Okun extraction, and congratulated lawmakers for their victory at the poll.
He commended them for their humility, simplicity and genuine commitment to Okun Agenda and development.
Elder Aiyeetan specifically thanked the Speaker, Rt.Hon. Mathew Kolawole who he described as very approachable, a good listener who is always willing to attend to Okun matters at all time. He pledged the Forum’s support to the leadership of the Commission under the Chairmanship of Andas Abdulmalik and his team.
He prayed God to give them divine wisdom and good health to implement their programme and lofty ideas for the Commission.
In his message, Hon.Musa Omiata appreciated their support and advice and promised to take their grievances and complaints to the appropriate quarters.
In attendance at the event included Hon. Kilani Olomo, Hon Victor Omofaiye and many other dignitaries from Okun land.
