Search for Common Ground Announce Winners of Art Media Competition

An international non-governmental organization working on peace building and conflict transformation, Search for Common Ground has announced winners of it art media competition.

The competition to develop media messages on religious freedom and interfaith acceptance under four categories: poetry, literature, photos/animation and short videos.

Winning entries were selected based on innovation, relevance to the competition objectives and measure of inclusiveness.

In a press statement signed by Sher Nawaz, the country director of Search for Common Ground, Kingsley Onah won the poetry category with his brilliant entry, ‘Only One Altar’.

Ogbaga Sunday’s ‘Understanding Beyond The Surface’ won the writing category of the contest while Abdulrashid Hassan (Abba Tatabo)’s ‘Fahad & Frank’ and Adetimilehin Inioluwa’s ‘Intolerance’ emerged winners of the picture and short video categories respectively.

According to Nawaz, winners emerged after a thorough review undertaken by an 11-man team.

Search for Common Ground, with support from US Department of State, is focused on strengthening engagement between key stakeholders to advance conversations and responses on Religious Freedom or Belief (FORB) as a powerful force for interfaith understanding and peace to promote tolerance and address interfaith conflict by facilitating the development of a media campaign utilizing messaging that promote interfaith cooperation, and peaceful coexistence.
