It is not out of place to have godfathers in politics. But it smacks of political liability to have godfathers that have been rejected by the people.
Jide Omokore has not impacted on the people. He only share rice to buy people’s votes in order for him to maintain his chain of interests on the corridors of power. He gave us Smart Adeyemi, Sunday Karimi, FG Ibrahim, Folorunsho Daniyan, Dr Odutola and Funsho Emmanuel. All these individuals have the same baggage of failure.
Dino Melaiye is no more new to the people. He was the Mike Tyson of the House of Reps between 2007 and 2011. He was the anti-corruption crusader who drinks corruption. No godfather can save him from his imminent political annihilation. Prince Abubakar Audu is an envy of no heart. He has failed to win elections severally and he will fail again.
2015 represents the year of liberation from the politics of rice and semo.
Kogi West people have chosen to fight with their blood for liberation and self determination. It is not a fight of the godfathers but a fight against failure and oppression. Come 2015, the people will speak with their thumbs.
Bye-bye to godfatherism in Kogi West politics.
