Sallah: 12 Die, 28 Injured in Kogi Auto Crashes

Twelve  people died while 24 others were injured in auto crashes which occurred in Kogi State during  the Eid-el-fitri celebration, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) said.

Speaking with journalists in Lokoja at the weekend, the state Sector Commander of the FRSC, Godwin Omiko, said the deaths were recorded in five auto crashes.

Omiko, who said 64 people were involved in the accidents, adding that 28 people were rescued.

He blamed the accidents on wrongful overtaking, tyre burst and over speeding.

The sector commander advised motorists to be cautious at all times.
