Salem Varsity Celebrates Archbishop Amaga at 73

The management and staff of Salem University Lokoja on Sunday, with warm hearted love, felicitated its founding Chancellor, Archbishop Sam Amaga, on his 73rd birthday.

Prof Alewo Johnson-Akubo, the University’s Vice Chancellor, in a congratulatory message issued in Lokoja, described the Chancellor as a “Trailblazer” and a “charismatic leader,”

The vice chancellor (VC) said that the entire university community heartily honours his hard work, godly impact and dedication to raising future leaders.

“As our Chancellor celebrates his 73rd birthday this day, we all salute his amazing and impactful years he has spent on earth so far.

“We believe that Archbishop Sam Amaga is indeed a true patriot, mentor, and father figure worthy of emulation by everyone who desires to succeed in life.

“As we join the family and other well wishers in celebrating with him, we wish him more years of good health, peace, joy and fruitfunees to keep impacting the world positivly, ” he said.

Prof. Johnson-Akubo said that the chancellor has made tremendous contributions to the spiritual and educational growth and development of Nigeria as a Priest and an Academic.

According to him, the Chancellor has touched many lives especially the indigents in the society through the SAM AMAGA Foundation.

The VC said the Archbishop’s ‘Project One Million’ has offered scholarships to over 200 orphans from different parts of the country.

He said some of those young indigents the Chancellor had demonstrated his love and care for within the length and breath of Nigeria have already graduated in Salem University and other institutions of higher learning.

“They are now change agents that are impacting their world in various walks of life. Many more are still being recruited and sent out to various institutions,” he stated.
