Kogi State Government has been commended for organising a free rural medical treatment across the state.
The Chairman, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Zakito Umar, who stated this when he visited one of the centres at Odolu, expressed delight with the high number of people that came out for the programme.
While thanking the governor, Captain Idris Wada, for coming up with such an eye-opening initiative, Umar believed that the initiative would be a clear demonstration of his love for the people of the state, adding that the policy was worthy of commendation and emulation.
He pledged the continual support of the people of the local government to the administration of Governor Wada.
Alhaji Umar described the Free Rural Health Care Initiative (FRHCI) as one of the governors noble programmes that is geared towards making health care available and accessible to those living in rural areas.
He expressed his confidence in the ability of the policy which was meant to cater for everyone regardless of age, religion and social status.
He also commended the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Idris Omede for showing great determination to eradicate some of the chronic ailments troubling the people.
The leader of the team, Dr Ambrose Olalekan, appreciated the people of the council area for the warm reception and cooperation.
He reaffirmed the determination of the medical team to deliver health care to the doorsteps of rural dwellers.
