Ruling House Demands Removal of Olu Oworo, Petitions Kogi Assembly

Kogi State House of Assembly has received a petition calling for the dethronement of the Olu of Oworo land, Adoga Muhammed Baiyerohi.

The petition which was written by the Iwomasi ruling house of Oworo Kingdom was laid and read at plenary by the member representing Lokoja II Constituency, Idris Ndako.

He said the call for the dethronement of the traditional ruler was to avert looming large scale crisis on the ground of his desecration of the customs and tradition of Oworo Kingdom.

He said the traditional ruler was being accused of causing disaffection and disharmony amongst communities and people of Oworo Kingdom in Lokoja Local Government Area.

In his submission, the Speaker, Prince Mathew Kolawole, however committed the petition to the House committee on petition, asking it to report back to the house in three weeks.
