The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State on Security Matters for Yagba West, Hon. Tade Oshaloto has been commended by His Royal Highness Oba Tajudeen Fashedu, the Eleri of Eriland for the way and manner he has effectively handled security issues in Yagba West. According to the monarch, the efforts of Hon. Tade has greatly reduced the instance of crimes.
Oba Fasedu gave the commendation during the visit of ‘Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Se’ team to his palace on Wednesday.
Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Se train during the ‘show of force’ across Yagba West visited the palace of Eleri of Eri to secure a royal blessing. According to the SSA who is the leader of the team, the visit was to intimate His Highness of activities of the security outfit and to seek for his royal blessing and support.
Acknowledging the efforts of Kogi State government to secure lives and property of citizens, Kabiyesi praised His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his resolve to rid the state of crime and criminality.
The royal father commended the SSA and his team for the visit and remarked that since coming of the SSA Security, there had been noticeable and encouraging improvement in the response of security apparatus in Yagba West to emergency security situation which was the reason for the relative peace and tranquility enjoyed by the people of Yagba West.
Recall that as part of his efforts to ensure peace, safety of lives and property, Hon Oshaloto Tade recently launched a security initiative codenamed ‘Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Se’. According to him the initiative is a proactive approach designed as a synergy between security agencies vis-a-vis the Military, the Police, Civil Defense, DSS, Immigration, Vigilante Service and Community leaders to proactively address crimes and criminality in Yagba West.
Addressing the people, Hon. Oshaloto noted that “the governor has invested so much that we all live in peace in Kogi State, and as his Security aide in charge of Yagba West, we are committed to complimenting the efforts of His Excellency in ensuring that Yagba West is a model local government in terms of security of lives and property”.
“It is on that note that we created and launched ‘Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Se’ to checkmate crimes and criminality and to make a statement that our local government is at peace”.
On how far the outfit has achieved its mandate, he said, “the operation has achieved tremendous success. Taking statistics of crime pre – ‘Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Se’ and now, there is significant drop in the rate of crime and criminality”.
On his part, the Departmental Security Officer(DSO) of the local government, Pastor Afolabi Emmanuel, who is the deputy Coordinator of Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Ṣe, explained that the outfit has prevented herders/farmers clashes having been able to interface between various groups, tribes, religious and associations across communities in Yagba West.
The DSO also mentioned that as part of the success stories of the outfit through intelligence gathering and synergy between all the security agencies in the local government, we have been able to foil robbery attacks with stolen vehicles recovered along our border towns”.
“Trailer loads of unverified persons imported to Yagba West were successfully intercepted during the interstate lockdown”.
At ‘SEMINANKA’ a farm settlement in the suburbs of Odo Eri, Yagba West, Hon.Tade praised the farming community for maintaining peace, law and order in their domain. He added that government would deal decisively with any individual or groups who indulge in any act calpable of undermining the efforts of His Excellency at securing citizens and residents of Kogi State.
The leader of the community Mallam Abubarka Ibrahim who spoke on behalf of his people thanked the SSA and his team for the special visit, saying it was special because Hon. Tade is the only government official to show concern for them. He described Tade as a leader with a large heart who can be trusted, promising that they would do everything possible to remain peaceful, not to break the law.
Hon. Tade rounding up the week-long security awareness campaign and Show of Force by commending the security agents and traditional and opinion leaders for the understanding, cooperation and supports in making ‘Operation Àlàáfíà Rà Se’ a worthwile security initiative.
The SSA assured them of Governor Bello’s continued support for their welfare.
Finally, the Governor’s aide urged the people of Yagba West not to harbor strangers or people of questionable characters and be ready to assist the security agents by giving useful information that would help to nip crime in the bud.
