A former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Commodore Folusho Daniel (rtd) has called for strict adherence to rotational politics in Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi West.

Speaking at the just-concluded Yagba Summit held in Mopa, the former lawmaker said adherence to the rotational agreement is pivotal to the desired unity needed to advance the entire Yagba land.

He said political fairness and balance remained major key to sustainable development.

Commodore Daniel emphasized the importance of equitable power sharing among the three local government areas – Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro – which he described as the three legs of the Yagba tripod.

“Yagba is a tripod society that cannot stand on two legs. For there to be justice, equity, and fairness, Mopamuro must be given the opportunity to produce the next House of Representatives member for Yagba Federal Constituency,” he said.

He urged political stakeholders, party leaders, and the general public to respect the principle of rotation, which he said has long guided the political arrangement in Yagba and ensured peaceful coexistence.

Commodore Daniel noted that Mopamuro has long been marginalized in the federal legislative representation and insisted that the time has come for the local government to take its rightful turn.

The retired naval officer’s comments were received with applause by attendees who acknowledged his sincerity and depth of experience in Yagba political affairs.

He concluded by calling on Yagba sons and daughters to prioritize unity, justice, and inclusive representation as preparations begin for the next political dispensation.
