A group of Kogi State indigenes living in Plateau state has told Governor Yahaya Bello t0 resign from office.
This call was made in Jos by an association known as Kogi State Liberation Group, KSLG, during her 17th National Executive Council Meeting.
In a communiqué issued to journalists in Jos, the group called for resignation of the current Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello with immediate effect.
Speaking shortly after the meeting, the National Secretary of the Group Comrade Sunday Bala Oma, on behalf of the Group expressed their displeasure over the way and manner the Government of Kogi State is handling the affairs of Kogites with levity.
He accused the Administration of Yahaya Bello as government that embraces impunity as its actions and inactions so far, adding that the Governor has proved that his Government has no regard for human life.
Oma, however, stressed that nothing justifies the Nonpayment of salaries to over 70% of the Civil Servants who have given their all, to a meritorious service over a decade or more in the State.
He pointed out that, the most pathetic is the crumbs being given to the privileged few who ought to be receiving their full pay.
According to him, this Government has no moral right to cut down the salaries of workers, not even after receiving the Bailout fund of N20 billion.
Oma explained further that states such as Plateau who received four times less neither sacked nor reduced their salaries.
So It obvious, this Administration derives joy in Mass Sack in the name of curbing corruption and exposing Ghost Workers, he added.
He condemned that this is unacceptable and that based on this premise; “ we are calling on Yahaya Bello to resign with immediate effect since he has proved that he is incompetent to drive Kogites to the promised land,” he said.
“We also use this medium to call on the EFCC to investigate Mr. Bello so as to find out what he did with our Bailout fund, travelling for Hajj with Tax payer’s money while the workers are living from hand to mouth is the highest level of insult to Kogites will receive from this visionless Administration”
“Once again, we insist on Yahaya Bello’s resignation with immediate effect.
