Member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Shaba Ibrahim has expressed shock over the recent attack on a marriage ceremony in Koton Karfe by armed bandits.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the lawmaker commiserated with the affected families.
Hon. Shaba noted, with concern, the incessant nature of the attacks both in communities and on the Abuja-Lokoja federal highway where over 70 innocent lives have been lost between November 2019 and February 2020 while countless numbers have been hospitalized with various degrees of fatalities and a record number taken hostage for ransom.
While reiterating that the primary purpose of government is the security and welfare of the people, he noted that a situation where hoodlums seem to be operating unhindered does not augur well for the citizens.
He called on government and security agencies to be more proactive and rise to the challenge, assuring that he and his constituents are willing to collaborate with the government to help curb the menace of this rampaging marauders.
