The people of Egbeda community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State were full of excitement today as the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Salman Idris, flagged off the construction of a 0.5km Apole road in the community.
The Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim, performed the flag-off exercise on behalf of the House of Representatives member.
He praised Hon. Salman for prioritizing the development of the community rather than dishing out little cash to a few individuals which he described as unsustainable.
“We must appreciate Honourable Salman for the legacy project. He could have chosen not to do this road and shared some cash to a few individuals but here we are today flagging off a multi-million naira road project that will benefit the entire community,” the chairman said.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the President of Egbeda Egga Development Union, Dr. Emmanuel Dare Otitolaye thanked the lawmaker for considering Egbeda Egga community for the road project.
He assured him of the continued support of the people of the community.

Also speaking, the Obaro of Egbeda Egga, Oba (Engr.) Noah Olumide Obademi, thanked Honourable Salman for facilitating the road construction in his community.
He said Egbeda Egga community would reciprocate his good gesture at the appropriate time and assured him of the community’s continued support.
Honourable Salman Idris had promised to commence work on the road during the Egbeda Egga Day celebration, where he was the chairman of the occasion. He was represented by Hon. Job Ologe at the occasion.
