Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency in the House of Representatives Arc. Idris Salman, has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
Speaking at an elaborate empowerment programme in Kabba on Sunday, Salman said the empowerment initiative manifests the collective dedication to building a prosperous and self-reliant society devoid of any form of crimes.
The lawmaker noted that his unwavering commitment towards empowering communities in the federal constituency gave birth to the empowerment which will further enhance the means of livelihoods and create sustainable opportunities for the people.
“Let us remember that progress is a continuum and there is still much work to be done, we assure you that we are committed to your interests, as we continue to champion the causes that are vital to the prosperity and well-being of Kabba-Bunu/IjumuFederal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
“As we continue to strive for development and the betterment our beloved constituency May Almighty Allah bless you all abundantly,” he said.
Arc Salman empowered his constituents with 110 items worth about ₦150 million.
He distributed 20 motorcycles, 20 grinding machines, 38 generators, 20 deep freezers, 1 camera with printer, 10 industrial sewing machines as well as 6,300 bags of 5kg rice.
Arc. Salman told the gathering that he is gradually settling down and learning the art of legislation being the primary responsibility of an elected member, assuring them he is a fast learner and is quickly adjusting to the real business of law making at the National Assembly internal politicking.
The lawmaker reeled out his achievements in the last six months as the representative of the federal constituency.
“We have undertaken legislative measure fashioned for the betterment of our constituency through moving motions that have direct impact on the lives of our people.
“We have been able to tar 1km road, built a world class computer centre in Iyara.
“We have also demonstrated a steadfast commitment to serving the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, as evidenced by the prompt and effective response to requests from individual and groups who need assistance.
“It gives us great pleasure to inform you all that significant developments have taken place in Ayewa, Kabba, in recognition of the economic importance of power supply we have released the sum of 1 million Naira for the replacement of the transformer thereby putting an end to power outage in the area.
“We have equally facilitated the Ayegunle-Iluke-Idoyi electricity connection.
“Moving on, we have also prioritized the establishment and maintenance of crucial infrastructure, particularly roads. We are proud to announce that funds amounting to 500,000 Naira have been released for the construction and repair of the Olle road.
“We are collaborating with Kiri Development Association for the infrastructural development of Kiri Land.
“Additionally, the Iyah-Ayeh roads also receive equal attention with the allocation of 500,000 Naira, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for our constituents.
“Furthermore, an impressive sum of 2,000,000 Naira has been earmarked for the Okoro-Odokoro-Ayeh road, reflecting our commitment to ensuring that communities across the constituency are accessible.
“In continuation of our efforts to uplift the vulnerable members of our constituency, we have through the National Widows’ Programme been able to provide substantial support to widows, just yesterday 450 widows were blessed with food items, clothing materials, and financial assistance. This program aims to alleviate the hardships faced by widows, recognizing their immense contributions and providing a helping hand when needed the most.”
