In a bid to enhance the security of lives and properties and improving the economic activities in the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency, the representative at the National Assembly, Hon. Tijani Muhammed Ozigi, has installed hundreds of solar-powered streetlights in some wards for the benefit of his constituents.
Hon. Tijani, known for his commitment to community development, extended this thoughtful gesture to key areas across the constituency with the aim of reducing insecurity—a challenge affecting the nation and Kogi State at large.
The first phase of the electrification project has been implemented in areas including Obehira Eba Ward, Obehira Uvete Ward, Abuga Ozuja Ward, Cemetery, and Okengwe General Hospital.
This impactful initiative highlights the critical role of lighting in fostering community development. It is expected to enhance security, drive economic activities, and significantly reduce nocturnal crimes in areas previously engulfed in darkness.
Through this project, Hon. Tijani Muhammed Ozigi has taken a major step toward fulfilling one of his campaign promises to improve essential infrastructures in the constituency, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for his people.
Reacting to the life-saving project, residents of the affected areas, particularly night market traders, praised Hon. Tijani Muhammed Ozigi for his exemplary leadership and impactful representation.
“We thank him for bringing more light to our community. We appreciate what he has done before, what he is currently doing, and what he plans to do in the future. May he never know darkness in his own life,” a market woman remarked.
