..Says training and development of teachers are paramount in ensuring quality education.

The Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives and member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has distributed about one hundred laptops, numerous notebooks and other learning materials to over one hundred head teachers and school administrators trained in advanced teaching techniques and ICT applications in basic education.
The three day program was organised in partnership with the Centre For Management Development and participants were drawn from the three Local Government Areas of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State.
While declaring the program open, the Deputy House Leader in a virtual message delivered to the participants underscored education as the bedrock of every society. The lawmaker added that as an elected representative of the people, he takes pride in investing in the critical sectors of the economy in which education is part of stressing that for every society to develop, the capacity of those who administer basic education must be built regularly.
He said, “the training and development of teachers are paramount in ensuring quality education for all. Teachers are mentors, guardians and role models who shape young minds into responsible citizens. Their output is capable of contributing meaningfully to society and instilling values that will last a lifetime. So, teachers deserve the best at all times.”
While delivering her goodwill message at the closing ceremony, Ms. Mariam Inigbedo of the Centre For Management Development congratulated the participants for being chosen out of the numerous teachers across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency as she appealed to them to religiously apply the lessons they all learnt in their respective classrooms.
In his vote of thanks, the Executive Secretary of Ankpa Local Government Education Authority, Prince Ishaka Yakubu, thanked the Federal Lawmaker for identifying with teachers. He reaffirmed the facilitators position that teachers play a key role in the building of every society, assured Rep. Halims of a lasting relationship with teachers as he urged other representatives of the people to emulate the kind gesture of the Deputy House Leader.
The highlight of the program was the presentation of the certificate of training to the beneficiaries most of whom were very elated by the gesture. One of the participants, Mr Bartholomew Ejeh while thanking Hon. Halims said the Constituency has become the envy of many other federal constituencies because of the work of their Rep.
