The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the decisive steps taken to rid Kogi forests of all forms of criminalities, kidnappings and banditry.
In a statement made public by Hon. Iliyasu Zakari, the SSA on Media and Publicity, the Council Chairman has advised the criminals to relocate from Kogi State or face elimination, as Kogi State, once adjudged as the safest State in Nigeria would not be allowed to be overrun by criminal elements.
The Chairman stated that the renewed unslaught coordinated by the Kogi State Government in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) is already yielding positive results.
“I can reliably inform you that the troops of the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army overran a notorious terrorist enclave and recovered a massive cache of arms and ammunition linked to terrorist kingpins Kachalla and Shaibu.
“As the troops continues to the make headway in reclaiming our lands and forests, the bold decision taken by Governor to face these terrorists head-on and provide all the logistics support needed to exterminate and expel these criminal from Kogi State must be applauded,” he said.
Commending the operation, the Lokoja Local Government Chairman, applauded the gallant and fearless officers on the field particularly the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General KU Sidi for the commitment and professionalism.
He urged the communities in Lokoja Local Government Area who were advised to close markets and parks to adhere strictly and comply with the security personnel during the operation to ensure zero collateral damage
