Chief Medical Director of Kogi State Reference Hospital, Okene, Prof. Solomon Avidime, has approached the management of Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja (FTHL) for seamless collaboration.
Avidime told the Chief Medical Director of FHTL, Dr. Olatunde Alabi, during a formal meeting on Friday, that the reference hospital boasts of state-of-the-art facilities that all hospitals in Kogi state can leverage on for excellent healthcare service delivery.
He pointed out that though the new hospital is fully equipped to take off, there is need for adequate human resource to man the various units, departments and facilities professionally in order to give the best expected of the edifice. For this reason, he came to discuss possible ways in which the two health institutions can collaborate for mutual advantage.
The CMD of Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, Dr Olatunde Alabi, expressed gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for finding it worthy to add to the health delivery structures of the state by building several ultramodern hospitals across the state and placing a world class standard reference hospital among them with state-of-the-art facilities.
He noted that the reputation of Prof. Avidime preceded him as a leader and scholar in the medical field and will be glad to collaborate with him in placing reference hospital Okene where it belongs in the world map of healthcare delivery.
Director of Clinical Service at the FTHL, Dr Bernard Ododo Itopa and former NMA Chairman in the state, were on ground to receive Prof Avidime.
