It is no longer a recurrent debate that Senator Atai Aidoko Ali is the flagbearer of the PDP for Kogi East senatorial district in the February 2019 general elections.
This also a clear indication that as the highest political office holder from the area, and at the same time a candidate Kogi Easterners are looking up to, to bridge the gaps of maladministration, underdevelopment, poverty ridden and socially stratified as well as symbol of recovery of the Igala lost political patrimony, damaged by the APC led government in the state.
It should also be realisable by now, that we have gotten to a point of no return in our political development, if the Igala race are genuinely determined to attain our political liberty truncated in the last three years for sheer sectional interest by our leaders.
It is not out of place for Igala leaders to rally round the Kogi East senator in the interest of a tribe that is majorly concentrated in Kogi state, and the 9th largest ethnic group in Nigeria.
It is also high time we jettison our political differences, castigation and wrong notion along with dangerous rumour to run down our elders statesmen who have the interest of the younger ones and generation yet unborn paramount on their minds.
The impression of going round to confer with elders and stakeholders from Kogi East on the way forward for the Igala race politically and otherwise is not out of place, but dragging the name of our revered elders into politically motivated statements is devastating and needless at this critical point of the life of our people.
Kogi east senator, Atai Aidoko Ali, agreed is the chairman senate committee on SDGs, and is meant to carry out oversight functions and not the chief executive of the agency in the current dispensation, against the general notion of the writers and his collaborators to attempt to deny the people of Kogi east infrastructural development been attracted to the area, instead of misinterpreting and misrepresenting the good intentions of the senator at the altar of cheap blackmail from his same kinsmen and women.
We should count our ourselves lucky and on the same page this time around by genuine and patriotic elders, who have come together for the betterment of Kogi east and its teeming people who had been pauperised by the current leadership in connivance with those who never meant well for our people.
This struggle is not about Kogi East senator alone. For the records and ranking status, he is the most qualified senator from north central to occupy principal officers’ position in the senate, hence we need to resolve to return him and bury all our hatches for the progress of our area.
If we miss this time around in the senate by electing Kogi government stooges from our area in APC, then we have risked continuity of retarded progress politically, economically, socially and in all ramifications.
The 2019 senatorial elections in Kogi East is not all about Atai Aidoko and PDP, it is about uprooting poverty and under development, it is about payments of our workers salaries and non payment, it is about taking over our land as fulani colonies and retaining it by our people, it is about job security of our people and joblessness and removal of our people from their places of work.
All hands must be on deck to get it right devoid of any differences, cause getting it wrong now, with the connivance of our bad eggs, will mean missing for another four years the governorship slot of Kogi state. God forbid.
We should take our progress and development of our land close to our mind and return Kogi East senator, Atai Aidoko Ali.
