Though, our democracy is nascent in this part of the globe.
Democracy thrives best when all concerned entities have mutual respect, trust and solidarity in the process that can guarantee seamless & equitable distribution of power.
Kogi State is not an exemption.
In the last few years, the political gladiators have come to a gentleman agreement that power rotation is non – negotiable among the three major ethnic groups that made up the state.
And, in order to attain this, it was agreed that while Kogi East having exhausted its fair share of governance and Kogi Central are on the verge of completing 16 years of theirs after the 8 years tenure of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in 2032, its expedient of Kogi West to take over the mantle of leadership where Governor Ododo stops.
After due consultations with the traditional institutions, youth, women and other stakeholders in Kogi West, it was unanimously agreed that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will be supported for a second tenure in office.
With this mindset and awareness, it is trite, to say, that Kogi West shall rightfully takes its own right & equitable share of governance in 2032.
It is, therefore, most worrisome that a supposed “Pastor Stanley Ajileye” is on the brink of rocking the boat in the middle of the journey with his careless, malicious & egocentric outbursts.
Kogi West extraction are not known to be violent, dishonest and volatile.
Yes, the political formula in the distribution of power could have been distorted by sheer ignorance or negligence before now – it is now time to take our destiny in our own hands.
For the records, the foresightedness of our traditional rulers and other critical stakeholders in Kogi West should be applauded, not outright condemnation.
While the likes of Stanley Ajileye & his cohorts are drumming the sound of war and destabilisation of the process, well – meaning individuals are preaching alliance, synergy and negotiation with the other component allies that makes up the state.
The Kogi West likemind campaign is not borne out of fear, intimidation or defeatist – its aimed at guaranteeing a seamless transition of power among the three major ethnic groups in 2032.
The likes of “Pastor Stanley Ajileye” should be advised to cry his own cry, his repeated outbursts against the gentleman rotational arrangement is dead on arrival.
Kogi West will definitely wait patiently for their own turn in 2032. And any attempt to disrupt this by any individual will be perceived as anti – Kogi West, Okun!
In 2032, power will definitely shift from Kogi Central to Kogi West.
