The attention of Olamaboro Democratic Frontiers has been drawn to social media report making the round over a purported endorsement of Dr Joseph Ameh Erico by stakeholders in Olamaboro Local Government at a recent meeting.
It is surprising that what was called a stakeholders meeting in the first instance was merely a selection of some individuals and not stakeholders of All Progressives Congress, APC as claimed.
This response is mostly significant in many respects as doing otherwise would amount to a disservice to our great party, APC, considering the negative effects of disinformation, misinformation and outright deceit.

Let it be known that the APC is wider and stronger than any individual or a minute group which constitutes itself as an acclaimed stakeholders basically working for a selfish interest other than the interest of the generality of the Olamaboro people.
Equally, it is educative to note that the Kogi East Senatorial District actually requires a wider audience and consultations before an endorsement can be said to be valid hence the action of the few individuals and their data boys can be likened to a deliberate action aimed at discrediting the people of Olamaboro if true democracy is anything to go by.
Obviously, the action would further portray the people of Olamaboro as enemy of Kogi East and or Democracy since a mere meeting can be termed and named an endorsement. It is on this note that we strongly advise the data boys to embrace responsible Community journalism if they must report events no matter how little it may seam.
From the report, it was evident that no specific name of a stakeholder was mentioned, neither was any of the party executive mentioned, there by making the report so watery, vague and inconsequential- It is essential to highlight that such endorsement, if true, must convey specific signatures or names in order to attain credibility.
Furthermore, the rebuttal by a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and others who attended the said meeting stating clearly that there was no endorsement of any form, but rather, it was just an indication of interest by some of those willing to contest elections in the next political dispensation for Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly from the area further proves the social media report as false, baseless and unfounded.
At this juncture, we call on the writer or data boys, their sponsors as well as the originators of the fake report to withdraw same in the general interest of Olamaboro people.
Similarly, politicians willing to contest elections should avoid desperate acts by delving into unwholesome acts inimical to their well-being and the community at large.
Obviously, only God gives power and to whom he wishes, hence the actions of the people should always confine with global best practices and standard, afterall, true democracy should be inclusive and participatory.
Undoubtedly, Dr Joseph Erico is not alone in the election race as there are many others, implying that any purported endorsement implies creating enmity among the local governments in Kogi East.
Politicians, leaders, party officials and other members should therefore jettison the purported endorsement of Dr Joseph Ameh Erico for Senate as it was a figment of the writer’s imagination.
Finally, Olamaboro stakeholders should be mindful of such characters who may turn such a meeting into an endorsement and consequently, turning stakeholders against the Olamaboro people. Let it be known too that Olamaboro people are too intelligent to be deceived by such unimaginable social media propaganda.
If however, our position on the above issue is disputed, we challenge party leaders and political office holders from Olamaboro in the present government to come out boldly and act accordingly.
