As the holy month of Ramadan sets in and muslim faithfuls commence the annual twenty nine to thirty days fast, the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu has charged Muslims to uphold the tree and main essence of the one month fast in order to improve the constituency, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
While making the disclosure, he congratulated muslims worldwide for the rare privilege of witnessing this year’s Ramadan and called on them to take advantage of the period to extend love, charity and wherewithal to the less privileged as enjoyed by Allah and his messenger.
In his words: “the true essence of Ramadan is spiritual cleansing, fresh opportunity for repentance and of course a period to show love and compassion to the destitute. So, lets observe it with total commitment and sincere intentions in order to help advance our homes, community, state and nation in general.” Speaking further, he advised muslims to desist from the contravening practises of the holy fast stressing the need to strictly adhere to all principles guiding the blessed month.
After congratulating muslim faithfuls, he urged them to be keen in prayers that will enhance peace and harmonious coexistence among kogites and Nigeria in general. He thereafter prayed for an easy start of the spiritual exercise from the beginning to the end.
