On Saturday, May 27 2017, Muslim faithfuls of Lokoja II state constituency were once again in ecstatic mood as popular lawmaker, Hon. Idris Ndako, representing Lokoja II donated food item to members of his constituency.
The event which took place at the lawmaker’s Felele residence has traditional rulers and representative of various communities in attendance.
In his welcome speech, Hon. Ndako described the the present economic recession as an act of God that need our prayers.
“The food items been distributed is aimed at reducing extreme hunger amongst the elderly ones, women, widows, and the needy who are cherished members of my constituency.
“I owe my people and constituency exceeding representation beyond legislative primary assignment. No one deserves to go hungry even if the country is currently battling to get out of recession. I made a promise to my people and I owe them a duty to provide the needed dividends of democracy and hope to meet with them on a monthly basis.
He appealed to the people of his constituent to embrace the call by President Buhari for Nigerians to go back to farm.
Speaking to journalists at the event, one of the beneficiaries and the Onu Igala of Felele, Chief Idris Omale said “to whom much is given, much is expected. I have been a part of this annual distribution of food items even before Hon Idris Ndako was elected and I continue to pray that he prospers in all his endeavours.”
It was gathered that the beneficiaries were drawn from the five wards of Lokoja II constituency and beyond.
