Rainstorm: Aidoko Sympathise With Ankpa People

Senator Atai Aidoko Ali (PDP, Kogi East) has sent a message of sympathy to the people of Ankpa on the violent rainstorm that ravaged the ‎ancient town destroying many houses and properties.
In a statement released by the media office,the senator advised the people of the area to prepare for the side effects of early and late rain as it is always destructive ‎to the environment.
‎Senator Aidoko stated that the importance of early rain cannot be over emphasised in our people’s preparation for early farming activities and harvest, except the destruction and havoc occasioned by the natural phenomenon.
The lawmaker warned on another dimension to rainy season in the area, particularly the already known history of erosion in the environment. He said the people also need to open up water ways and desist from building indiscriminately to ensure a free flow of water.
He appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the people through the state emergency management agency (SEMA).
He also urged the state ministry of education to make efforts at rehabilitating schools affected by the disaster in the community.
The senator appealed to spirited individuals and corporate bodies to also assist the schools to ensure the continuation of ongoing WAEC/NECO examination.
