By Comrade Nasir.
The member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa has called on the people of Ankpa 2 constituency to come out in their numbers ahead of the fresh and continuous voter registration coming up as from Monday, 10th April, 2017.
The call which he made in Saturday afternoon became necessary as a result of the voter apathy that greeted the 2015 general elections. In his words “many people were denied to vote because their permanent voter cards were not collected from INEC before the 2015 election while others couldn’t vote as a result of their failure to register hitherto. So, here is another opportunity to prepare for your franchise to vote,” he asserted.
While making further remarks, he reinstated his commitment to serving the good people of Ankpa 2 constituency noting that in a matter of time, his tenure will come to pass and the only thing he shall be remembered by then will be any legacy he lays now.
You will recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has earlier announced that the registration exercise shall also include recovery of unclaimed permanent voter cards (PVCs), replacement of lost or damaged PVCs and registering of those who just come of age(18years and above) ahead of the 2019 general elections.
