My attention has been drawn to a purported vote of no confidence passed on my leadership as the President General of Ebira Youth Congress (EYC), where lies were concocted by those mischief makers to mislead the general public.
- First and foremost, I vehemently refuted the allegation as tissues of lies, unfounded and groundless thus, urge the public to discountenace it outrightly.
- Those mischief makers could simply be described as charlatans who are hellbent to misleading the public whilst destroying or damaging the moral rectitude and reputation that the founding members of this organisation have diligently built over the years.
- To put the record straight, EYC as an umbrella youth body of Ebira people was founded on democratic principle; and that is why its core obligation and mandate is anchored on constitutional arbiter. Hence, my presidency acknowledges the three organs of the organisation whilst discharging my constitutional responsibilities.
- To further expose those mischief makers and their falsehood, I have always respected the sanctity of democracy because the organization is built on popular opinion as clearly evident in the decisions of its National Executive Council, Congress and the Council of Elders.
- EYC is not founded on the principle of ochlocracy; and its core obligation is grounded in constitutionality thus, supporting its decision-making process to be entirely democratic.
- Allegation of frequent strife and conflicts was orchestrated by the refusal of my predecessor to legitimately hand over to me the assets and liabilities of EYC which includes; three vehicles and other vital and important documents that I need to function effectively as the President General.
- Hence, the most important reason why those mischief makers covertly fraternised with he (Aliyu Ateiza Obiyo) to passed a purported vote of no confidence on me because of my insistence to hand over those assets. His blatant refusal to hand over those properties to me has been reported to the Council of Elders, and a meeting has been scheduled and rescheduled to that effect.
- No fund was left in the EYC bank account and there is no receipt for any financial records or transactions that was handed over to me by my predecessor. Whilst urging the general public to verify this claim, I would make available a verifiable document to substantiate my claim.
- It is grossly unfounded the allegation of partisan politics leveled against me. Whilst I understand that the core principles of EYC is built on value orientation, youth inclusiveness, conflict mediation, it is also true that its primary obligation is to defend the paramount interests of our fatherland and Ebira people. So, EYC could be partisan and non-partisan.
- There are evidence of gross misconduct by some NEC members where letters are written to persons or group of persons using the letterhead paper of the organisation used by my predecessor. One of such misconduct was a letter written to the Secretary of the Ebira Education Trust Fund with forged signatures.
- To this end, let me put it on record that EYC is governed by constitution. So, to legally and legitimately suspend the President General as they claimed in their purported vote of no confidence, that decision must necessarily reflects the popular opinion of the congressmen and due considerations of the Council of Elders. This hasty decision taken by those impressionists is too naive and must be disregarded by the general public.
