I wish to address the recent publication concerning an event scheduled to take place at the Palace of HRH Dr. Abdulkadir A.L Koguna in Kano State from January 25-27, 2025. It has come to my attention that there was an unfortunate error in the communication regarding the nature of this event.
After a thorough perusal, I hereby clarify that the upcoming ceremony is solely for the coronation of the “Peace Ambassador of Africa” on myself, Sheikh Hassan Mukailu Abejukolo. The earlier publication which referenced a “coronation and installation as the King of Igala in Africa” was made in error and is hereby retracted in its entirety and highly regrettable.
I acknowledge and deeply respect the ancient and revered institution of the Attah of Igala, currently occupied by our Father, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Alaji Mathew Opaluwa Oguche-Akpa, as the supreme traditional ruler of the Igala Nation and the Chairman, Kogi state council of Chiefs. At no point was there any intention to establish a competing traditional authority or to diminish the prestigious status of the Attah stool, which has been the cornerstone of Igala traditional leadership since before the 12th century.
The confusion caused by this erroneous publication is highly regretted. I extend my sincere and unreserved apologies to:
- His Royal Majesty, the Attah of Igala
- The Igala Area Traditional Council
- The entire Igala Nation
- Ane Igala Restoration (AIR)
- All concerned parties who may have been affected by this miscommunication.
The upcoming event remains scheduled as planned, but strictly as a peace ambassadorship coronation ceremony. We look forward to celebrating this recognition while maintaining the utmost respect for the traditional institutions and cultural heritage of the Igala people.
Thank you all for your understanding.
God bless the Attah of Igala.
God bless the Igala Nation.
God bless Kogi state.
Yours Sincerely,
Sheikh Hassan Mukailu Abejukolo
