Former Kogi State Treasurer of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adesayo Ismail has prophesied that come 2023, Governor Yahaya Bello will be next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He disclosed this at the APC Ijumu Local Government rally held in his country home, Aiyegunle-Gbedde to campaign for the party’s chairmanship candidate, Alhaji Isah Taufiq, his vice chairman, Mrs Rachael Otitolaiye and the Councillorship candidates in this weekend local government elections in Kogi state.
According to him, the party need not to come to Aiyegunle to campaign again owing to the fact that the community was part and parcel of the formation of the party from 2013 with his former boss, late Rotimi Obadofin playing a prominent role. This, he said, is aside the involvement of Barrister David Aiyedogbon who is a son of the soil, and Alhaji Isah Taufiq as a great son of Gbedde and an in-law of Aiyegunle community.
He said the time has come for the North Central Zone to be given a chance to have a shot at the presidency, stressing that the zone has been marginalized for a long time, hence the need to support an articulate individual like Alhaji Yahaya Bello who already has experience in governance.
He said if Governor Yahaya Bello can succeed in tackling the security menace of Kogi State, then as the President, all security challenges in the country will be a thing of the past.
According to him, if Alhaji Yahaya Bello can unite the people of Kogi state, secure the state from criminals, and also clean the rots in the civil service then the issue of disunity, failed infrastructures, security, corruption which seems to be the major challenges in the country will be overcome.
He enjoined the people to continue to have faith in the party as it remain the only platform that will take the country to another level of development.
