The Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on his remarkable second year in office.
In a statement on Tuesday, Prof Usman said Gov. Ododo’s administration has recorded nine key remarkable achievements in the polytechnic within two years.
The Rector listed the historic fencing of Kogi State Polytechnic’s Itakpe Campus for enhanced security.
He also mentioned the provision of a transformer to boost electricity supply at the Itakpe Campus and installation of solar street lights on the Lokoja Campus to improve illumination.
Other projects listed includes: Provision of CCTV cameras to strengthen security operations on both Lokoja and Itakpe Campuses; Accreditation of 18 programmes and the introduction of 8 new ones, thereby promoting quality assurance and expanding access to Polytechnic education; Implementation of the minimum wage and the corresponding tax holiday; Full implementation of Kogi State Health Insurance Schemes for our staff and students; Payment of Leave Bonus to staff, and consistent prompt payment of salaries; as well as payment of bursary allowance to students of Kogi state origin.
While expressing profound gratitude to Governor Ododo, the Rector wished him more resounding years ahead to continue to render an impactful and purposeful-driven leadership for the good people of Kogi state.
