The Coordinator of Female Network for Senator Smart Adeyemi Continuity (FENSSAC) Miss Olubo Folashade has donated relief materials to internally displaced persons who are victims of Insurgency in the North-East region of Nigeria.
According to Miss Folashade who is the immediate past Miss Ijumu, her attention was drawn to the deplorable plight of the refuges through a documentary she watched on African Independent Television AIT.
Addressing Journalist during a visit to the Abuja camp with relief materials, the ex-beauty queen who is now into humanitarian service express shock at the state of facilities at the camp, the condition of the victims and the untold hardship they are going through.
Some of the materials donated includes; food items, clothes, blankets and toiletries.
While answering questions from Journalist who seek to know why a pro-Smart Adeyemi group who is contesting in Kogi West is donating to victims of Insurgency in Abuja, Miss Folashade reacted this way; If you know our principal, very well, the question will not arise. Senator Smart Adeyemi is a giver, he takes pleasure in assisting the needy, in fact, People refers to him as an advocate of the masses on the floor of the Nigerian Senate. He is a friend of the poor and in that spirit, we have come to donate to the helpless and the needy at this camp.
Miss Folashade called on Government and other Kind spirited Nigerians to come to the aid of the victims of Insurgency. She used the opportunity to thank Mrs Yemisi Smart Adeyemi for empowering Kogi West woman last year December and called on the good people of Kogi west to support and vote Senator Smart Adeyemi to represent Kogi west in the Senate come 2015 so he can continue to bring home the much needed federal presence in Kogi West and indeed Kogi state at large.
