The immediate past chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi state chapter, Comrade Oladele John Nihi has been ‘kidnapped’ by men of the Nigeria Police force. He was picked up in Okoro Gbede, Ijumu local government yesterday (Monday) on the orders of timid Taufiq Isa, the unschooled local government administration.

It is a well known fact across Gbede that Taufiq is a violent politician who unleashes security agent on anyone who crosses his path. He is too crude to be appointed primary school class monitor. He moves around the local government with a combination of Army, SARS, Civil Defense, OPC, Vigilante, Police and thugs. He has ordered the arrests of his in-laws in Ayeh-Gbede for failure to obey his orders to the letter.

I won’t dwell on Timid Taufiq today, story for another day.

Oladele Nihi is an Ijumu son from Aiyegunle Gbede. He is the son of late Chief Nihi, a former Chairman of the defunct Oyi local government (comprising of the current 5LGAs in Okun land).

Oladele Nihi’s arrest has revealed a pattern of suppression in Ijumu land. Who is, or are the accused sons of the land that are attracting negative dividends of democracy to Ijumu land?

Senator Daniel Dino Melaye is from Ijumu as well. From Aiyetoro Gbede to be precise. We are all aware that the only gift he got from All Progressives Congress (APC) is regular harassment and accommodation in police cells.

After Dino, another Ijumu son that benefited from APC ‘dividends of democracy’ is Ayere-born Comrade Deji Adeyanju. The rights activities has shown character and consistency over the years. He is currently been detained in a cell for a case he has been acquitted by a court of competent jurisdiction several years back. The only APC dividend of democracy in Ijumu is cell, prison.

For allegedly supporting Atiku Abubakar and Dino Melaye, another Ijumu son, Barr. Tunde Ayeni is currently being humiliated by the highly partisan EFCC.

We are not unaware of the fact that a well-known senatorial candidate in Kogi West has chosen to use the presidency and EFCC to hunt Chief Tunde Ayeni.

Having obtained a loan of N570million from Aso Savings, which now stands at N1.2billion to fund his 2015 election, the over-ambitious senatorial candidate now chooses to hunt Chief Tunde Ayeni who helped him secure the loan.

The current style to arrest Chief Tunde Ayeni by the EFCC, as masterminded by the Kogi West senatorial candidate, has always been his style to pull down and intimidate his fellow Okun brothers when ever he is desperate to achieve his political aspiration.

This ‘once upon a time’ senatorial candidate has always used the EFCC to harass and intimidate perceived opponents. Egbeda-born Chief Abiodun Ojo, another Ijumu son, can testify to this.

Elders from Ayeh Gbede, Hon. Clement Owoyomi, Chief Sunday Aiyejoritan have also benefited from the APC ‘dividend of democracy’ for Ijumu sons. These elderly men and others were hauled into a police van and driven to Lokoja to enjoy APC cells, courtesy of Timid Taufiq.

At the right time, sooner than they think, we will make public the identities of Ijumu sons who are attracting this satanic dividend of democracy to our land.

The once progressive and peaceful Ijumu kingdom is now a place where legitimate sons of the land are being hounded by illegitimate sons. The products of adulterous affairs among us have come of age.
