Prince Rotimi Yaqub Obadofin is a seasoned politician, renowned revolutionist, founding member and a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He is a committed political pillar as well as an avowed party man.
A native of Ayegunle-Gbedde in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Obadofin had his Primary education both in Ogidi-Ijumu where he was born and Ayegunle Gbedde but never had the opportunity of secondary school education as a result of the politics in the family, despite the fact that he passed the common entrance examination back then.
Armed with the zeal and determination to succeed even in the face of enormous challenges, he faced it. At first, he learnt stenography and later became a Newspaper Vendor in Lokoja among other things that made him a street-hustler.
He gained admission into Agricultural Training Centre Ilorin Kwara state, where he specialised in Irrigation.
Thereafter, he attended the then Kwara State College of Technology (now Kwara State Polytechnic) from where he studied Engineering and obtained the Ordinary National Diploma Certificate.
In the course of his study, he became Student President of the School of Technology and later Vice-President of the entire school and was one time a Senate President at the level of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
He was also a Labour man and has been a Socialist since 1974. But because it is no longer fashionable as it is in raw form and it cannot work, he let go of that. In its place, he embraced western democracy, free trade and competition which have dominated the world today. The struggle now according to him, “is not against the West but to see how a good part of capitalism can be useful to our people”.
An active advocate of change, Obadofin after graduation did the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and thereafter became self-employed before venturing into politics.
In this piece, the Apostle of equity, fair play and justice bares in his mind on the agony of the masses of Kogi State and how to salvage the state from the prevailing rust, rot and decay. He is on a rescue mission. A vibrant God-fearing man, articulate both in Local and international politics. He’s a very close associates to not less than Six Governors among the first top ten performing governors in Nigeria.
He is a man that belongs to nobody and belongs to everybody. His ideological level in governance is far above comprehension. He’s well carried in terms of project that has everything to do with the commoners. A progressive thinking man with ‘virgin concepts’ enough to drive Kogi state to its peak of developmental strides.

Comrade Prince Yakubu Rotimi Obadofin is the Messiah sent by Almighty to shame the devil and comfort all Kogites!
I hearby call on all progressive comrades, market men/women, labour men/women, teachers, Nigeria Union of Road Transport (NURTW), pensioners, widowers, orphans etc to canvass massive support and vote Comr. Prince Rotimi Yakubu Obadofin for Kogi State Governor.
