Prince Abubakar Audu Was a Phenomenon in Kogi Politics – Kwankwaso

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has described late Prince Abubakar Audu as a phenomenon in Kogi politics.

The leader of Kwankwasiya Political Movement and former Governor of Kano State made this known in a short speech during the second year anniversary celebration of the decease leader at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua House in Abuja on Saturday.

Senator Kwankwaso, the chairman of the occasion and a closer ally of the late political icon said, because of Audu’s political sagacity and love for his people, he physically supported him for his third term Governorship ambition, the victory that was yet to be announced before his transition to glory.
The former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris also described the late Governor Audu as an unparallel phenomenon in Kogi politics.
The two term Governor and a successor to late Abubakar Audu explained that then to contest for governorship of Kogi state, one must get clearance from the great leader which he did as Audu’s successor in 2003.
He therefore praised him for his doggedness, fearlessness, passion and vision. The immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Capt Idris Ichala Wada added his voice to the encomiums on Audu and referred to him as a compassionate, pragmatic, people’s leader and a friend.
Engr. Mohammed Audu, the first son and leader of the Audu family referred to the day his father died, (22nd Nov. 2015) as a day of tragedy and devastation for Audu’s family, Kogites, friends and associates.
Audu said” My father Abubakar Audu was on a mission to put Kogi State on a part of safety and progress before his demise”.
He however expressed regret that the state of peace, security and prosperity the late Governor Audu worked for is in shamble soonest after his death, especially the absence of internal democracy the people highly deserved.
The gathering at Shehu Yar’adua House that was earlier preceded by prayer at his country home Ogbonicha in Kogi state, had the presence of the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonanya Onu, Prof. Jerry Gana, Prof. Saidu Oga Mohammed, representative of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, HRH Dr. Ado Ibrahim, the Ohonohi of Ibira land, representatives of Speaker of House of Representative, Governors of Kaduna state, Bauchi state, Speaker of Kogi State Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole also represented Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.
Also present were Kogi APC State Chairman, Hon. Hadi Ametuo, Kogi APC Local Government Chairmen, Senators Mohammed Ohiare, Abdulrahman Abubakar, leader of Kogi East Elders Council Arc. Gabriel .Y Aduku, Bar. Halima Alfa, Hon. Tims Nda Diche, Prof. Ifanyi Okafor and representative of former Edo state Govenor Lucky Igbinedion among others.
