I, Hon. Emmanuel Makoji Egwu, on behalf of he good people of Idah Federal Constituency which comprises of Idah, Igalamela/Odolu, Ofu and Ibaji local government areas, wish to disassociate myself and Idah Federal Constituency which I represent in the House of Representatives from the purported establishment of a cattle colony in Kogi state.

My people are predominantly farmers. They fend for their families and loved ones through farming and Agro allied production. The danger of cattle colony in my Constituency is extremely alarming and is capable of resulting in avoidable farmers-headsmen clashes. It will generate severe crises between the indigenes and the cattle colony masters, which will hamper economic and social activities. This may render our peace loving people vulnerable to unwholesome attacks.

The Governor of Kogi state and minister of Agriculture are hereby advised to rescind this unpopular concept and decision on establishing cattle colony in Kogi and Nigeria in entirety.

I solemnly sympathize with our brothers and sisters in Benue, Taraba, Kaduna, Adamawa, and other states that have been affected by recent violent attacks by cattle breeders.

God bless Idah Federal Constituency
God bless Kogi State
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Hon. Emmanuel M. Egwu (MHR), NASS
