President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the reappointment of Kogi-born Dr. John Niyi Olanrewaju as Director-General/Chief Executive of Micheal Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) Ilorin, Kwara State for a second term of four years with effect from 1st January 2012.

This was contained in a congratulatory letter to Dr. Olanrewaju signed by the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Engr. Anthony Ozodinobi.

“I wish to convey to you Mr. President’s approval of the renewal of your tenure of appointment for a second term of four years as Director-General/Chief Executive of Micheal Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, with effect from 1st January 2012”.

“The approval of the renewal of your appointment for a second term is a testimony of the confidence reposed in you arising from the level of performance achieved over the years. I, therefore, wish to congratulate you for a well deserved re-appointment, while we hope you will put in your best to raise the standard of the institute to greater heights.

Dr. Olanrewaju joined the then National Institute for Labour Studies, now renamed  MINILS in 1990 as Senior Administrative/Personnel Officer.  By dint of hard work, resourcefulness and discipline, he rose to become the Director of the Institute with his appointment in October 2005 by the President.

Within two years of assuming the position of Director, Dr. Olanrewaju was able to reposition the academic and educational affairs of the Institute, making it a major contributor to Nigeria’s labour policies and sustainable socio-economic development programmes in the country.
